What it is a Photo Rejuvenation?
Photo rejuvenation is a non-invasive treatment that corrects skin damage with the use of Intense Pulsed Light, or IPL. It’s safe and effective for such facial concerns as broken capillaries, benign brown pigment, age spots, mottled pigmentation and more. IPL technology has become popular because of its safety and effectiveness.
request an appointmentHow it works?
A cool gel is placed on the area, then a IPL handpiece is moved over the treatment area, emitting controlled pulses of light. The light heats up the skin and heals broken capillaries, and as it reaches beneath the surface of the skin, it improves the collagen and connective tissues, creating a significant reduction in skin damage.
**ABSOLUTELY NO SUN EXPOSURE AT LEAST 2 WEEKS BEFORE AND 2 WEEKS AFTER YOUR TREATMENT**
**NO TAN**
What to expect:
Day 1: We are going after black, brown, blue, purple and red. You body will absorb blue, purple and red during the first hour you will feel like a sunburst. Within an hour the skin will have calmed down. You may apply makeup in one hour.
Day 2: You may apply makeup. You may see a little pink and feel like a light sunburn. But make up will cover.
Day 3: By the end of day three the cells wil begin to come off. Wear your lipstick and eye makeup and keep your skin moist. You may massage the skin with inexpensive moisturizer for 5 minues twice a day. Remove with warm wash cloth then rea;;ly moisturizer as needed throughout the day.
Day 4 & 5: This is when you will have the most exfoliation time if you keep moisturizer on your lips and eyes.
Day 7-10: Remaining exfoliation could continue, keep skin very moisturized. In certain rare cases, redness and irritation can go beyond 10 days.
To maintain, you should repeat treatments at least once a year.
How many do you need?
Depending on your skin type, you may need 1-3 treatments per year. The more damage on the skin the more procedures you will need. It is an investment, so you definately want to wear over 45spf on a daily basis.
Concerns & Considerations:
One of our treatments can equal 3 treatments other clinics offer that’s why we do not make you buy a package. However, expect our treatments to require about 7 to 10 days of “down time,” so this is something you’ll want to plan around your social calendar. While you can wear makeup during that recovery time, you will want to avoid sun exposure completely to protect your skin. Some bruising, swelling and a peppered appearance may be present for a few days after treatment
